The help desk is a public service except for the development support, which is provided only to registered members.

Help Desk Role

  • To provide answers to questions coming from the external world relating to the OpenECG project.
  • To provide further information to all interested people indicated by the OpenECG partners or the management boards (it acts as the formal contact point for a first approach to the project).
  • To coordinate with other partners for the provision of the best help for the user.
  • To provide information, literature and references regarding interoperability and relevant standards to all the users.
  • To assist users in accessing and understanding the OpenECG project and the member services that will be provided.
  • To deliver the development support (available only by email) that is reserved only to registered members. An ECG file in SCP-ECG format can be submitted and an analysis report will be produced describing the file features and the inconsistencies in the standard implementation. An SCP-ECG implementation description is strongly recommended to all the members that require development support.

Help Desk Policy

  • The official language of the OpenECG consortium is English and all the communications exchanged with the help desk should be in that language.
  • Answers will be provided only to questions within the scope of the OpenECG project without any distinction based on the sender (race, sex, country of origin, religion, etc.).
  • No copyright violation or license agreement, no racist, inflammatory, harassing, abusive or obscene language will be tolerated or used.
  • All the users of the service implicitly agree that if a question is considered of public utility, it may be made available either to all the members (mailing list) or to all the users (FAQ).
  • People who provide false data (name, position, company, etc.) with fraudulent intent will be liable to penal prosecution.
  • All ECG files submitted by members for development support must be anonymous, with a fictitious patient name.
  • All members that receive development support implicitly agree that the submitted ECG files with their analysis report may be included in the ECG database and made available to all the members.
  • Each member can benefit from development support free of charge only once.
